Lapford's Project 2000 was started in 1999 by a group of villagers who wanted to provide activities and events in the village of Lapford.

• Lapford Project 2000 runs the monthly newsletter Lapford Lookout, edited by Jeanne Whittaker.

• Lapford Project 2000 sponsors the Lapford Archive, commissioned and maintains the Lapford Map, and the Lapford Quilt, and has put on entertainment and musical events in the village.
